We are staying at the Beech Hill hotel in Derry. This antique looking hotel seemed too nice for some college students to stay at. It was tucked away on its own private property with ponds and trails all around it. I have to admit, it was a little eerie at night, especially after the bartender told a few ghost stories about the hotel. Today we went to Ulster American Folk Park. It was an outdoor exhibit that told us the story of Irish emigration and really brought to life the experience of the emigrant adventure. We journeyed through cottages of Ulster, along with a full scale emigrant sailing ship. There was an array of costumed characters with traditional crafts to show, tales to tell and food to share. After our tour we headed back to the hotel and I sat by the fire in the lounge and read my book and enjoyed a relaxing night.
